Interesting Thought, I Think I Agree
She is the captain of making threads on all of the shows that J.E.W play at, and has the people that went there disucss them, so that's why she didn't really write anything... :)

they were excellent
Jim seemed to be really into it, talking and laughing, shouting at ppl far away to come watch them.
And the amount of times Jim solo'd!
excellent, will report more when I have gotten some sleep
Afternoon all,
JEW-messag board virgin but had to act after yesterday at Oxegen. Was in the front row (well, behind two wee girls) so really second row and just left of the centre of the stage. Was MASSIVELY, MASSIVELY, MASSIVELY dissappointed; the sound was absolutely shite, there was barely any sound fom the lead mic. Compared to the Olympia, it was like listened to JEW karaoke. Good to sing alont to but I may as well have been in my car. Mundy was on beforehand and he was brilliant, perfect sound and New Order were headlining on the same stage and sounded great (although they spent a few songs tweaking the sound).
HUGE let-down, had been really looking forward to them ......
How did anyone else think they sounded, how was the radio feed?
I think they sounded bloody great. Excellent set list, loved everything they played and was the best act I saw yesterday! There were alot of problems with the sound on the Ticket Stage on Saturday with The Bravery and Bloc Party and I thought the sound for JEW was alot better! It was my first time to see JEW at a festival and they were just amazing, I really enjoyed them!
Jimmy Eat World were the third best at oxegen(green day and Audioslave were the two best)out of what I saw.The crowd really got into it and so did the band.I was at the very back at the start but I worked my way up to the third row within about 5 minutes. It was such a great performance,my friends had never heard them before but really enjoyed it.They were the only act I saw on the ticket stage, glad I went to them(Even though I was in a queue afterwards for the whole of the Killers).Does anyone know why Bright Eyes Wasn't there?
No but were you in the pit for Audioslave? I was in the que for their whole gig but they were still great and it looked so deadly when everyone was throwing their plastic bottles in the air!
the audio from the show sounds like it was a great time!
A friend of a friend is the lead singer of 66e, the band that covered for Bright Eyes. They only got a call on Saturday afternoon to ask could they come to the concert to play as BE weren't coming. Whatever happened it was very last minute. Short but good set from 66e I thought - a friendly plug, check them out at www.66earehome.com, there's a few singles to download.
Mr.F
Joyce anychance of changing the title to
07.10.05 Punchestown, Ireland @ Oxegen Festival
cos it definatly wasn't in Dublin, and any band that said Dublin on stage got a bit of a boo for not knowing where they were :)
At least it's not as bad as the muppet from Bloc Party saying that it was great to be back in the U.K., getting serious grief from the crowd and then trying to back out of it by saying that he meant familiar territory! Didn't hear it myself but heard their gig was great. Your man from the Streets said something equally stupid.
WHAT??? The Streets said something stupid??? Never!!!!!!!! hahaha
I think it depended on where you were and who you were with fer JEW cause I've never heard such mixed reviews in my entire life!!
All I know is I had the time of my life there. The sound was unbelievably bad but the lads def made up fer it by bein in such good spirits!! I was also front row centre so that made it a thousand times better. It was sooooo good. Totally worth missin audioslave fer!! I know I could have caught a lot of them but I wouldn't have been where I was if I had done. And standin through Mundy damn nearly killed me. But I'm still on such a high from the whole thing. JEW ROCK! All hail.
Audioslave was the craziest pit I've ever seen!People were just throwing bottles straight at people's heads instead of in the air.It was awesome when they played Spoonman,Black hole Sun and Killing in the Name was mental.Oxegen was the best weekend ever can't wait til next year.Who else good did you guys see?there was so many good bands I didn't get to look at.Quote:

What did that sign say?I was on the other side so i couldnt see it.Quote:

JEW were definitely the best act over the whole weekend, I didn't really care who I saw after them on Sunday because I didn't think anyone would be as good but New Order were amazing! Did anyone get into the Green Room for James Brown on Sunday night?Quote:

I think fellas that were completely fucked off their faces only went to see the Abba tribute and they probably thought it was Prodigy anyway cause they would of been soo drunk, I mean fuck sake who the hell would pick an Abba tribute over the Prodigy if they were sober? They could have put Green Day on the main stage on Saturday night instead of a tribute band and then we could of seen Interpol(their whole set). I think most the stages were pretty messed up this year! That would have been a funny site to see, seven people at an Abba tribute screaming their drunken heads off. Why was the tribute on the main stage?Quote:

Jimmy rocked oxegen. This is my first time seein them live and i thouht they did the best job they cud do due to the circumstances of bein left on that shitty ticket stage and having only a small set time. They got the crowd going big time, people even wastin their beer (hopefully it was beer! ) throwing it in the air (some of the throws went so far the wer like rockets!!).
Dunno what u guys r on about the sound quality being bad, it sounded great although i was about center of the crowd and pretty merry  . Twas calss when they started calling ppl over from over the other side of the field, im pretty sure some ppl actually came! I introduced sum of my friends to jew only that weekend and im sure ive converted them they loved the show!
Hopefully Jimmy will be back in ireland for a show of their own! Greenday can support them!! :D

every year there is a band put on stage after the main band on the saturday so that there would be music on that would have a lot of people heading to the campsite and leave others to see the band. in this year most people either went to the campsite or to see the end of prodigy on the ticket stage.
Bjorn Again were always down to play last for that reason. happens every year
